Crossing the Mississippi from Missouri to Kentucky, near Cairo, Illinois but never entered Illinois.  Bridge over the Ohio, in the distance.
Barge traffic on the Big Muddy.

Entering Tennessee after golf at The Links at Novadell, Hopkinsville, Kentucky.
Cooling our heels at the turn at Lake Shawnee, waiting for the ladies league to start in front of us.
View of the Lake Shawnee course, Topeka Kansas.
Doubt you'll ever see Dick with this much hair on his head, ever again.  No haircut since early April, no shave since May 13.
Drive-by of the Gateway Arch in St. Louis.
Leaving Utah, entering Wyoming.
 The amber waves of grain.
 Colorado to Kansas.
A guy who makes the amber waves of grain possible.

Two views of Soldier Hollow golf course in Midway, UT (just outside SLC) on what looked like the site of an Olympic Nordic skiing venue.

Dinner of fried Halibut, steak, corn-on-the-cob and tortellini salad with Tim, Lara and Sally Graham, our friends from Jacksonville who just moved to SLC.
Scenes along the road from Yellowstone to Salt Lake City.
Grand Teton Mountain, Elk-antler arch in Jackson WY and others.

Several views of the Upper and Lower Falls of the Yellowstone.

Wildlife in Yellowstone, sometimes so close to the car that the camera couldn't focus.

Four views of Old Faithful performing for a group of a couple thousand.  We had to wait all of 3 minutes for the performance.

Below, Dick's river guide and flyfishing coach, Dan Grabowski, holding the 21-inch Brown Trout that Dick caught.
Below, a nice view from the Yellowstone River during a stop for fish unhooking.
Below, 3 of the good-sized fish that Dick caught on a guided float-boat, flyfishing trip down a stretch of the Yellowstone River on Monday July 16.  First is a  20 inch Brown Trout.  Next, a 21 inch Brownie (note the rod and reel that Evergreen employees gave Dick upon his retirement).  Finally, a 15 inch Cutbow (a naturally occurring hybrid between a Cutthroat a Rainbow Trout).  In the background of the third photo, Jerry and Don can be seen (mostly fishless) in a separate boat.  We ate a smaller Brownie and the Cutbow for dinner on Tuesday July 17.

At the Calgary Stampede we saw, among other things, barrel racing, bull riding and chuckwagon races.  That was about all that we wanted to see and the rest was just a mass of humanity gawking at a huge carnival.

Below, the international border where we crossed back into the good olf US of A above Great Falls, Montana.
We saw, literally, hundreds of thousands of acres of bright yellow rape in southern Yukon, much of British Columbia and most of Alberta.

Below, the RCMP entrance into the 100th anniversary Calgary Stampede.
Below are 3 photos of wildlife on the road between Teslin and White River, Yukon Territory.  This was our best day of wildlife viewing by far as this is just a small percentage of what we saw that day.

Wildlife and wild life along the road from Fairbanks to Tok, AK. on July 6.

(It is 11:47 PM on Tuesday July 17 and I just went outside to look at the stars ['til now it has been mostly impossible to do so as it has been light all night].  As Jerry promised months ago, the edge of the Milky Way is visible as a light-colored cloud and thousands of stars are lighting the new-moon sky.  I hummed a verse of "How Great Thou Art" in honor of "...all the worlds God's hands hath made.")
