The three amigos viewing the grand U S of A.

Tuesday, May 15, 2012

Well we started our big adventure at about 9AM this morning and traveled a lot further then we expected, We got to Tuscaloosa AL which is about 500 miles. Everything went smoothly and even stopped in Enterprise AL where we saw the monument to the boll weevil. A little unusual but back in 1915 the staple crop in the area was cotton. The boll weevil pretty much wiped out the cotton crop then, so the farmers looked to other cash crop wich turned out to be peanuts. You should have seen all the peanut warehouses along the way. Because of the boll weevil, the area now honors the boll weevil for making them more diversified in their crops.
We we play golf in eastern Mississippi tomorrow and see how far we get after that.
